Peale’s Library

With the early morning light sparkling against his marble floor, deep in his musty library, with gargoyles perched above and shelves of books packed tightly below Charles Wilson Peale III searches through documents that are the last remaining copies of ancient manuscripts from the Library of Alexandria. It is here that he hopes to find an answer to the portal he had brought up from the ocean.

Even though it seems as if it is merely another luxurious artifact for his collection he knows it is much more significant than that. He knows that it is a machine that can send someone hundreds of light years away instantly, provided they can fit through the opening, just large enough for a child.
