I'm not much of a seaman nor do I know much about whaling, so I had to do a great deal of research for this cover.  Paul Chadwick (creator of the comic Concrete) came by as I worked on this cover and suggested a figure in the background pointing at the whale.  As you can see, I followed his advice.
