Serious, silent, tall, thin and wooden, that was Jeeves plus the head with wings. I never understood that hair. It was as if he just missed becoming a clown and he wanted to hold onto that last little bit of silliness. What a clown he would've made too. I can imagine him sending a number of children in for therapy.

His greatest ability, which he taught me, was standing so still and inconspicuously that he became invisible. Most inanimate objects were more interesting than he was. He was a statue of a  man, living among lifelike stones.
