Church Falls

The people of this continent have a rich tradition of mythology. The gods represent the various aspects of nature and the ranges of human emotion. In books and stories they are used to teach children about the physical world and about the follies of mankind. Sculptors, painters and poets still pay homage to them as metaphors of life.

Manifested here is a classic example of this cultural need for such imagery,  Church Falls. It is named for the engineer who designed the hydraulic generators to bring electric power to McCay City, but she is portrayed as the goddess of the sea, Mermidian.
