Boneheads

These giant marauders are about the dumbest animals on the planet, and their stupidity is an important part of the ecology of the New Continent.  Without them this part of the world would be covered with trees and plants choking off all other life.  They are the natural enemies of all vegetation.  Easily spooked for such large, otherwise lumbering creatures, a bonehead herd will panic at the smallest provocation, and stampede, trampling everything in its path, and even creating new paths through thick virgin forests.  At full speed one of these mammoth dunces will knock down ancient trees towering hundreds of feet high, clearing out a section of the thick forest giving other life a chance to begin.  Quite often these morons will trample each other in their crazed charge.
