Aborathan

No creature is lonelier than the aborathan.  Sluggish and terribly ugly, not to mention poisonous, no other creature will consciously come near it, it pines away for love.  Camouflaged perfectly to its surroundings, it waits.  If any animal comes within its myopic vision it pounces, and smothers its new lover with affection.  Of course this means death.  While the aborathan mourns, the object of its affection rots.  Once the remains reach the most rancid state, the toothless aborathan sucks out the carcass.  And the process of love and death begins again.

The aborathan is locked behind a glass cage to keep all from its awful embrace.  You will find it at the Winsor McCay Zoo.
